Visitors can’t resist the 6 kilometres of picturesque arcades, the medieval magic of our historic old town on the River Aare, the legendary Bearpits and all those beautiful boutiques. Berne has also succeeded in combining the traditional and the trendy when it comes to culture - for example, classical music, dialect rock, the late Gothic cathedral and the prestigious Paul Klee art collection. No wonder Berne was made the capital of Switzerland.
